for everyone

The expertise of an engineer, especially IT Engineer, is required by any line of business accross industries nowadays. Any company needs an IT infrastructure to support their business. Many job opportunities are available for IT Engineering in the late of 90s. But, not many people has knowledge in IT environment.

To express the knowledge and experience in IT field, sometimes it is not enough by telling people that we have more than 10 years in networking. We have been 10 years playing around with Cisco routers, something like that. No, it won’t make people trust you. Unless, you have the certificate.

Cisco Systems, as the major Networking Equipments Vendor, has a track for engineer to get the certificate. They launch 3 level of certifications, they are associate level (CCNA), professional level (CCNP/IP) and expert level (CCIE).

Cisco is not the only vendor who has the certification track. Microsoft, Sun Microsystem, Juniper Network, and many other vendors have their own certification track. This technique is very useful for the vendors to educate the user getting familiar with the environment. They expect to increase the loyalties of the customers to use their product as the platform of their IT infrastructure.

In the user site, this certification make the ‘price’ of engineers become higher in compare to un-certified engineer. Because of this, most of engineers run after this certificate to increase their income.
